Wiwi’s Eurovision poll opened on May 1 and closed on May 15 at 11:59pm. During that time voters cast a total of 35,802 votes, making this one of the largest Eurovision polls in the world. The results are:
(1) Turkey: 22% (7,809)
(2) Greece: 22% (7,807)
(3) Romania: 16% (5,825)
(4) Albania: 14% (5,133)
(5) Malta: 7% (2,503)
(6) Lithuania: 3% (1,024)
(7) Azerbaijan: 2% (841)
(8) Armenia: 2% (660)
(9) Norway: 2% (650)
(10) France: 1% (517)

Greece's Sakis Rouvas
Turkey’s Hadise edged out Greece’s Sakis Rouvas by just two votes, essentially placing the two in a deadlock. Romania fell to third following Greece’s showing in the second semi-final. Albania, who was a pleasant surprise on Thursday, overtook Malta’s Chiara for the first time. Lithuania and Azerbaijan held steady, while Armenia finally passed Norway, who may be suffering in the poll due to months of overexposure. France once again placed in the Top 10, suggested it may do the best of the Big 4 (despite oddsmakers backing Britain).
These predictions should be taken seriously. In addition to its size, Wiwi’s poll has proven incredibly accurate. On May 14, it predicted nine of the nine countries advancing from the second semi-final, matching its success during the first semi-final on May 12. (In both cases, the tenth country was selected by a jury of producers). Click here to review Wiwi’s live blog of the first Eurovision semi-final and click here to review the second semi-final.

Hadise: Still on top
More than 22,000 votes have now been cast. Countries that did not advance from the semi-finals were removed from the poll and their votes deleted. The adjusted results are as follows:
(1) Turkey (31%)
(2) Romania (17%)
(3) Greece (12%)
(4) Malta (9%)
(5) Albania (5%)
(6) Lithuania (4%)
(7) Azerbaijan (4%)
(8) Norway (2%)
(9) France (2%)
(10) Armenia (2%)
Following a strong showing in the second semi-final, Greece’s Sakis Rouvas has doubled his share of votes to reach 12%, pushing him ahead of Malta’s secretary-cum-pop-star Chiara Siracusa, who stands fourth. Meanwhile, Albania’s pink tutu-wearing Kejsi Tola continues to rise in the polls, surpassing Lithuania’s Sasha Son and Azerbaijan’s Arash & AySel after moving ahead of Norway’s Alexander Rybak on Wednesday.

Monday, May 11
On the eve of the first Eurovision Semi-Final, Romania’s Elena Gheorghe is surging in Wiwi’s ongoing Eurovision prediction poll. More than 11,000 votes have now been cast, and Elena has leapfrogged eight places to reach second position with 12% of all votes. She narrowly edged out Malta’s Chiara (11%) who staged her own dramatic comeback last week (see below). Their ongoing resurgence continues to reduce the lead of longtime front-runner Hadise, the Belgian-born beauty and occasional lip-syncher representing Turkey, who stands at 38%—her lowest portion of votes since this poll started two weeks ago. Other countries reaching the Top Ten were: Azerbaijan (6%), Greece (5%), Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom and Armenia (3%), and Lithuania (2%).

Eight-thousand votes have now been cast in Wiwi Bloggs’ Eurovision poll, and Turkey’s Hadise maintains a comfortable lead with 43% of all votes. However, for the first time in nine days, Hadise has seen her lead shrink (down from Monday’s high of 49%). Meanwhile, Malta’s Chiara Siracusa is mounting a comeback. After shining during her two rehearsals this week, Chiara reclaimed voter support and jumped from eighth place five days ago to second place today, claiming 12% of the vote (up from 3% on Monday). Azerbaijan’s Aysel and Arush also had stellar performances and earned 9% of the vote, helping them push Greece’s Sakis Rouvas (6%) down to fourth place—his lowest placement thus far in Wiwi’s poll. Other countries in the Top 10 were: United Kingdom and Armenia (4%), Norway, Portugal and Sweden (3%) and Romania (2%).

Monday, May 4
Entering the second week of voting here on Wiwi Bloggs’ Eurovision Predictions, Turkey’s Hadise continues to dominate. Of the 4,500 votes cast so far, Turkey claimed an impressive 49%. Interestingly, the majority of Wiwi’s readers reside in Western Europe, suggesting that Hadise has continent-wide support in her bid to make voters hearts go Düm Tek Tek. And her momentum appears to be building: last week Hadise topped the charts in Belgium for the first time.
So it appears this has become a race for second place. Azerbaijan leapfrogged five places to share second position with Greece. Both claimed 6% of the vote. Other countries reaching the Top 10 were: United Kingdom, Sweden and Portugal (5%), Norway (4%), Malta and Estonia (3%), and Romania (2%). (Does everyone want to be Hadise? Friday, May 1
Overnight Wiwi’s readers cast 2,000 more votes. As of Friday morning, Turkey’s Hadise maintained a comfortable lead with 26% of all votes. Greece (11%) surpassed the United Kingdom to move into second position, while Portugal (9%) came out of nowhere to move into third place. Other countries in the Top 10 were Sweden (8%), Norway and Azerbaijan (7%), Estonia, Malta and the United Kingdom (5%) and Iceland (3%). Thursday, April 30
After casting more than 400 votes over the past four days, readers of Wiwi Bloggs’ Eurovision 2009 have chosen Turkey’s Hadise (Düm Tek Tek) as the likely winner. As of 11pm on Thursday, April 30, Turkey had garnered 26% of votes, followed by the United Kingdom’s Jade Ewen with 19% of votes. Other nations making the Top 10 were Albania (10%), Norway (9%), Greece, Malta and Spain (4%), Armenia and Azerbaijan (3%) and Sweden (2%).
Wiwi will publish an update every day until May 16.

I respect all opinions, but this year, Spain’s proposal is very good!! The song has rhythm, light, and the singer is very simple and is always close to people.
For me, it’s a good song.
Soraya is very friendly of Hadise.
Hadise said in an interview that:
“she appreciated and it which sings likes Soraya.
Soraya is very good person”
The competition is among us, why? They are great artists!
12 points from Sweden to the turkish delight Hadis
Twin Brothers are the WINNER from Macedonia
GO to the FINAL NEXT TIME
gd luck chiara.malta and gozo are after you xxxxx

[...] Who Will Win Eurovision? Vote Now! [...]
I come from Greece and just voted for Hadise
She has some similarities in appearance with Paparizou I think. Nevertheless, she has better movement and accent than Paparizou and the song is very rythmic. It doesn’t matter if song is original or not. This is eurovision we are talking about
My taste in music is quite different than pop music (I prefer rock and heavy metal). Still I spent some time watching Hadise in youtube (I am not a youtube regular either), and I think Hadise is going to win. Since she can have me watching her, I can imagine what she does to guys
I would recommend her not wearing too sexy clothes. From all the videos I watched I think the video with the jeans is the best. It is cunningly sexy without overdoing it and the dance looks better with the jeans I think.
Even Greece votes for Hadise
Go Turkey!
I’m agree with you, my friend. Thanks for your explanations.

Hadise will win
[...] Who Will Win Eurovision 2009? Vote Now! Saturday, May 9, 2009 Eight-thousand votes have now been cast in Wiwi Bloggs’ Eurovision poll, and [...] [...]
I voted for Hadise. But my other favourites are Greece and Norway.I think the top 3 should be like that in Eurovision final night.
By the way i love Sakis very much!!!Good luck Greece and all the competitiors!
Sakis is a “good kid” as we Greeks commonly say. However, we are not generally thrilled by the fact that Greece sends the same people for second time in the contest. Paparizou went to eurovision twice (though not with the same country both times) and so does Sakis now. The contest could better serve as a boost for new performers, rather than a stage for older performers to help them with their international careers.
Just to give you a sense of Greek sarcastic humour:
Who will represent Greece next year in Eurovision? Vote Now!
a. Sakis
b. Paparizou
c. Paparizou and Sakis together
d. all of the above
Anyway, “I have a dream”: one day people from every country will vote for what they think is best (not only about songs, but in general), no matter which country they come from
Maria … you are adorable … I really enjoy your humour.
Maria:
I have never seen any other people talking in such a negative way about her country. It’s one thing to be modest and to “know thyself” and a different one to oppose to your own country in a competition.
Not nice.
E.
E. :
I do not “oppose” to my own country. This is your interpretation of my words and your interpretation is wrong.
Also, according to the competition we are not allowed to vote for our countries and there is a good reason for it. The problem with the world is that everyone considers their “things” as best and the “things” of others as worst based on country of origin. This is the real problem and it is definitely not “nice”.
Finally, the competition is about songs and not me, so you are off-topic discussing me here instead of the songs.
I forgot to mention that recently (yesterday I think), in the news of greek national television, journalists suggested “smart” ways for greek people to vote (aiwnia ellhnikh eksupnadoula/magkia, eternal greek smartness). They suggested us voting for songs that are not threatening our own song in the competition. Is this “nice” or what? I felt humiliated listening to this in the official greek television news and I do not like the feeling. Is it so impossible to win anything in a decent way these days?
So, basically if you do not know how down some people may fall, it is premature to judge other people (me in this case) that just want to throw some sense about fair competition. It is not fair (or fun) to send the same people all the time, it is not fair (or fun) to vote the “worst” songs so that you can win. You could discuss about what is fair game, instead of calling names people that only try to remain objective and decent in this unfair scene of people that have gone up to the point of shamelessly discussing unfair practice on the television news.
Paparizou went to eurovision twice for greece. She came 3rd the first time singing “Die for you” as the singer of the duo Antique and 1st the second time in kievo 2005 with “Number one”. Every greek knows that. Where are you from anyway? and if you don’t know or don’t remember well you can ask or don’t write. Thank you
And of course Kiara goes for the third time and Johny Logan went twice as a singer and won and another time as a composer and won again I think. And Dima Bilan for Russia and a lot of others.
I agree that it sould be for youngers but it is not. We are not making the rules. And the competition is too hard to ignore. So every country makes its best.
And you see that Cristina from Cyprus, a new one just 16 with a great voice, marvelous song and very good on stage with beatifull show, didn’t make it.
Sorry about the mistake. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Obviously not every greek knows this fact, because I am greek and I did not. Try not be “very suspicious” without reason. Greeks do criticize themselves and are not always proud about everything Greece does. I thought Paparizou went with Sweden the first time, but I was wrong. Also thank you for supporting my argument that Greece sends the same people twice.
I do not care if others are doing the same. I find it humiliating for every country that does it, but I prefer to criticize my own country instead of others. We can only improve things in general when we avoid doing the humilating things ourselves and set a good example, instead of doing the same bad things with the excuse that others are doing them as well.

I know that working people of countries have more things that unite them than things that divide them. While politicians and rich people fight about their properties, working people of all countries just go to work and try to feed their kids and themselves.
I met a man from Turkey when I was very young working in the fields collecting grapes. I was curious and tried to talk to him. He told me with a smile “Don’t talk to me! I am a bad person!”. I asked him why and he said again with a smile “Because I come from Turkey!”
Enjoy your Hamam! I go to the gym from time to time and enjoy Hamam as well

TURKEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HADİSEEEEEEE
To be honest I always believe in Wiwi poll because it is usually very close, and congratulations because you got quite a big sample
and that means it is always so close to what is going to happen! Yesterday I’ve seen all performances and definetely Malta got the best performance, I was believing quite a lot in Turkey but didn’t hear her so well, but she did well!
Goodluck to all countries!
For me, it should be either Turkey or Malta…
Goodluck!
hadise was sick at that day, that is why she could not sing very well. she will do great in finals.
go Turkey, go Azerbaijan
if countries vote accordingly to voice, technique, lyric, music, by far the best are Malta and Iceland. But as usual Turkey will vote for creece, Cyprus for Greece etc etc etc. POlitics has tuined eurovision. They are making it a bug joke!!!!!
speaking political, do not forget that Turkey and Greece were enemies. Tha is Skandinav countires fault what hapened now.. all skandinav countires voted only to its neighbors, not to songs! do not forget that. so what is wrong if Greece has the same music style like Turkey? they are neigbors. there are a lot of turkish live in Greece and a lot of greece live in Turkey.
hadise is not like that today May 13th 2009….the picture u have chosen there is probly from her highschool year….god you people what wrong wit h you
martin…u have to like learn what music is..and number 2 if u knew the greek-turkish history yoou would know tht those two ountries dont really support echother…ur retarded btw i am greek
Go Albania! The best!
do fitojme apo jo?!!! PO PO PO!!!
I am not turkish but i voted for Hadise! The very first time in history i really think Turkey should win this time. Hadise is a very beautiful woman and she dances very good. i think Turkey will win this year… My Top 5:
1. Turkey
2. Norway
3. Armenia
4. Greece
5. Russia
PEACE Y’ALL!
The best professional voice represent Armenia and Malta, but I prefer Armenia. Sisters are great! Their song is very beautiful. Being in show business very long time, I was amazed of the purity of the voices. I hope that “Jan, Jan” will be the best song for 2009 Eurovision.
I see here turkish and azeri people using ugly words. Don’t do that! You make me think bad about your country and your nations!!!!!!
nobody was searing. i see somebody here was swearing about turkish countries. anyway, just ask armeninan what means “Jan Jan”. where did they get that word? and go see turkish or azeri vocabulary(dictionary) what it means.
music was good, i do not say anything bad about that. actually i liked the clip.
1. Armenia – It was a supper & something a new for eurovision… ethnic-folk-dance. Cultural song… really good…..
2. Norwey- nice song.
3. Icland – amazing song….
4. Turkey – good song..but Hadise hasn’t vocal…. She couldn’t sing
5. Ajerbajan – Pretty girl… and Arash…. my thanks to Arash for a good song….
6. Greece – Sexy man… mister silicon…. but the song is good
7. France _ I like her songs
TURKİYE BIR NUMARASIN VE BIR NUMARA OLACAKSIN BU YARISMAYI DA BIRINCILIKLE BITIRECEGINI BILIYORUM HADISEYE BASARILAR.KARDES ULKE OLAN AZERBAYCAN’A DA DESTEK OLALIM
Absolutly Hadise is the winner. Who tells what does not matter . She has super song and voice and so hot . 12 point for Turkey .
Super song???? are u kidding me? that fucking song don’t have any artistical value! the lyrics are very banal and stupid! that girl are just standart, silly blond who only has the look. Her performance is totally crap!
Come on people, swearing is not needed or useful in winning the contest. Eurovision songs hardly ever have generally recognized artistic value. This is pure and happy pop music with some naive characteristics, but still fun for many people. Junk food is not very good for the health, but we still enjoy from time to time some piece of pizza and things like that.
Yes, Hadise is hot and I do not have a problem with that, because I am hotter
Just kidding!
I personally prefer heavy metal, rock and opera. I also like listening to folk music from other countries and my own. I like listening to music that sounds beautiful to my ears even if I do not understand a word of what the singers say. I sometimes think the singers could well say bad things about me while I enjoy the sound and do not have a clue!
Me and friends predicted that Finland could win some years ago with their unusual (for Eurovision) style song, it came true and we laughed a lot with the surprised Greek television people that could not believe the monsters actually won!
Enjoy the contest and be prepared to recognize the winner (that is Hadise) as early as possible! Recognizing the efforts of other countries needs more power and objectivity than recognizing the song of your own country…

Number one – LITHUANIA!!
Estija idomi dainele, gal Norvegija..
Do you know Norwegian and Estonian songs are plagiarism?
Don’t believe me? Watch this:
Jura Shatunov – Detstwo (copy this in You Tube), Norwegian song.
youtube.com/watch?v=9qJ13M4 Estonian song.
I can’t understand how they are still in competition:(
The all songs are good, but I think that this year must be win Albania, because she is great and she have a beautiful voice (maybe the best) and she have just 17 years. Her story is very interesting and like it very much.

[...] Who Will Win Eurovision 2009? Turkey’s Hadise has dominated this poll from the beginning, but Romania’s Elena [...]
I really like Sasha Son.
he has strong voice, and he’s very passionate…
it’s a pitty, that russians didn’t let him to have a video during the perfomance while russian artist can…. it’s not fair, is it? He said that without that video, his perfomance is nothing. He’s very sad…
so..good luck to Sasha.
watch this. very touching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJrPfCs8ub0

Albania is the best this time. I am from Turkey and I love my country but Albania rocks this time.
Gud luck Albania…
I guess Turkey is going to win this !
Albania is favorit number 1. Go Albania make us proud!
Gooooo Albania, we are aproud of you. You are the best.
Albania will win Eurovision 2009. See you all in Tirana, Albania in Eurovision 2010.
We will have a great time in Tirana……
do you have any big place for make a contest.
Albania have not one but many beg places for making the contest very successfull.
See you in Tirana in Eurovision 2010
Albania is going to win.
They are the bestttttttttttttttt………..
I’ll see you in ancient Illyria (Albania) for Eurovision 2010.
Go for it Albania!
do you really think that kind of shit like Turkey, Greece, Romania, Albania, Ukraine is the good taste music? Be realistic, because it’s totally crap. You should listen Norway, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Malta, Iceland and Estonia. This should be in top 10, but I feel bad because I know the votes come in political ways.
The music that Turkey, Greece, Romania, Albania, Ukraine make Norway, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Malta, Iceland and Estonia will never ever dream to make, because the music from these countries is not mixed with oriental rithm at all, thats what makes Turkey, Greece, Romania, Albania, Ukraine exceptional when it comes to music becaue they have oriental live rithm incorporated in their notes.
come on albania for the final
ALBANIA WILL WIN !!!
come on albania for the final
ALBANIA WILL WIN !!!
ALBANIA IS THE BEST THIS YEAR, 2010 IN TIRANA

i guess i can’t vote coz everybody i like always on the first place…but from the end)))
My top 5:
1.Romania
2.Norway
3.Albania
4.Azerbaidjan
5.Moldova
I do not understand ppl there. Eurovision song contest is becoming tasteless show. All performers, more or less, are great, bc they are representing own country. But look, turkey, greece etc. they too boring, because this kind of music is too commercial and CHEAP!
so, ppl change your conception of it. And of cos, vote not for neighbor country, but who you really like!
In my opinion, should be on the top list Lithuania, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Malta and sorry, others i dont remember
Vote from your heart and do not show that everyone have “not novelettish”taste of music. !
pls vote for the best song and voice that means malta turkey good song but no voice to sing

Azerbaijan, Turkey, Greece, Albania, and so on …
The same type of songs. It is as if the same group performed the song. Every year the same. Nothing original!

Everybody knows that Norway will win! All was a mascarade like allmost every year. Were is Malta, Armenia, Iceland and all other countrys with good songs? Let’s vote the neighbours and nothing else matter! SHAME!
This is unreal!!! Norvey suxx? Funny guy won. Ну нахуй норвегію підери все купили.
I think that none of the contenders are valued based on their performance.Eurovision is THE most politicized event in the artistic World! In order to have honest judgment, the judges/jury shouldn’t be from European Countries. If the Jury were from other then EU the result would be different.
